AI technology is in the news again. Ireland's Data Protection Commission has launched a formal investigation into Grok, an AI chatbot from Elon Musk's X platform. Allegedly, Grok is able to process personal data of real people at the request of users to create offensive and sexually suggestive images. According to the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, if the rules are proven to be violated, fines of up to 4 percent of global revenue can be imposed. The investigation raises new questions about the limits of AI technology, privacy protection and online security.
